Solid Wast - Transfer Station remains open

UPDATE: PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN MARKER OR PEN IF POSSIBLE TO CHECK OF PUNCH ON PUNCHCARD YOURSELF

Solid Waste Facility Remains Open

The Weathersfield Solid Waste Facility remains open. Solid Waste staff has been briefed on safety protocols as they relate to Covid-19. Protocols and procedures have been instituted for employee and public health and safety.

One change you might notice is the “social distancing” with staff.  To protect ourselves and the public, staff will be maintaining a separation. To that end, when coming in to drop off trash, staff will not be opening doors or trunks.  You will be asked, “How many bags of trash?”.

Also, please hold your ticket for staff to punch; we will not be handling punch cards.

If you see a staff person with a mask, it is being worn for their own protection.

Other things to consider when managing your waste and recycling include:

Bag ALL trash
Consolidate trips to the facility with other errands
Reduce frequency of trips to the facility.
Consider using a private waste/recycling hauler.
Remember that tissues (Kleenex), paper towels, napkins are NOT recyclable.  Please place in your trash bag for disposal.

If you have any waste/recycling questions, please contact Ray Stapleton, Solid Waste Manager at highway@weathersfield.org.
